Summer is an ideal time for pursuing internships and gaining additional experience outside of the classroom. The D.C. and Northern Virginia area offer a variety of opportunities spanning government, industry, and research. Mason offers the Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program (ASSIP), providing research opportunities working one-on-one with faculty researchers. For international students, the Washington Summer Institute at Mason offers programs in U.S. politics, law, and culture.
Additionally, Mason's residence halls are open for students interested internship or group/conference housing. For students wanting to gain experience farther away from home, Mason has more than 200 study abroad programs over 60 countries; there are international study opportunities in every department and program.
