On April 7, 2022, Mason celebrated its 50th anniversary as an independent public university. That day and the week of events surrounding it illuminated Mason as a university that is all together different.

$2.6 Million Grant

The College of Health and Human Services received $2.6 Million grant as part of a partnership with AmeriCorps and the CDC. Under the grant, Mason will train 30 AmeriCorps members.

The world faces serious challenges in the areas of sustainability, climate change, health care, and gender and race equality. Mason President Gregory Washington's conversations on these topics with thought leaders and experts broaden perspectives, enlighten and educate. 

“I’m hoping that a) students will listen, and b) they will use the feedback associated with this podcast to help chart their directions in terms of their majors, in terms of the directions they want to go in their own careers,” Washington said.
